Hi There! Welcome to my site. I’m Ara Hone, and I write science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary literature drawing on my chameleon DNA (and past careers) as a war-fighter, salesperson, and nonprofit novice.
I’m pleased to share my short stories appear in the following publications: “The Long Fall,” with Charles Rector’s Fornax; “Will You Remember Me,” Bewildering Stories Issue 819; “Decisions,” Issue Two of Last Exit; “The Nature of Irony,” Flash Fiction Magazine; “The Last Word,” Silver Blade Magazine’s Fall 2018 Edition; “Renewal,” the anthology Love Across the Universe, and I have work in other publications.
“Decisions” was chosen as a Long Form Fiction “Fiction Pick of the Week”, and I’m a FaithWriters Editor’s Choice winner.
My work is forthcoming to Pulp Modern Flash, Owl Hollow Press, and JayHenge Publishing.
Thank you for visiting my site and reading not only my stories, but those of other writers found in the wonderful publications I’ve shared.
I hold an MA in English and Creative Writing from SNHU, and an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. I’m also thrilled to be on the editing team at Flash Fiction Magazine. My role is editing general and priority submissions.
We authors may write alone, but we don’t have to be alone in the journey. That’s why I’m part of critique and writing groups. These support systems are not only fun and build lifelong relationships; they are also necessary in sharpening the craft.
Thanks again for visiting.
